Imagine that you have a big list of things to do- clean my room, doing my homework, reading books, studying for exams, . So the Parkinson law says that
“The work will expand to fill the time you give it”
Let me help you understand this better with an example – if I want to clean my room, I think it will take approx. 2 hours. so it would actually take complete 2 hours to finish cleaning my room. But if I plan to clean my room in 30 minutes, so by taking it as a deadline or a challenge I would complete the cleaning in 30 minutes.
So, Parkinson law is a reminder to not waste too much time on one particular thing and to give yourself shorter deadlines to get stuff faster in the form of challenges.
I applied this law in my daily life that I can write one page about a freedom fighter in 10 minutes and I completed it with 2-3 minutes remaining. This law is very useful for all of us because we all take very much time to complete simple things instead we should apply Parkinson law, it is really very helpful. My father told me about this law and I have started applying it in my daily tasks already.
