Story review : How I taught my grandmother to read by Sudha Murthy

In this story Ms. Sudha Murthy wrote that how she taught her grandmother to read. She wrote that she used to live in a village in north Karnataka. There was a weekly magazine for which the whole family eagerly waited. At that time Triveni was a very popular writer in Kannada language. She was a wonderful writer. One of her novels Kashi Yatre was appearing as a serial in the Kannada weekly karmaveera then. She used to read it for her grandmother because she couldn’t read it. Then she thought to help her. She started with the alphabets and taught her to read slowly.

This story is very inspirational. I loved this story. It was so well written and we all should apply this story’s moral in our lives which is to respect and help our elders if they are in a problem like Sudha Murthy did with her grandmother.
