The month of festivals has started and the first festival has came, Happy Dussehra to everyone. The people who don’t know what is Dussehra in this festival we burn the statues of the mighty Ravan to celebrate the victory of the god Rama over Ravan. Thousands of statues are burned in India in just one day.
In my society, we children make 10-12 feet tall statues of Ravan with firecrackers fitted in them. Alongside Ravan we also burn Kumbhakaran (his brother) and Meghanath (his son). We burn them due to Their sins in Ramayana by capturing the wife of Rama, Goddess Sita. Some records have also been broken by making very tall statues more than even 200 feet tall.
This year due to heavy rainfall, many people couldn’t burn Ravan statues including The Prime Minister of India which was scheduled for today.
Ramayana is a well known mythological story of the god and goddess Rama and Sita. Rama killed Ravan because Ravan kidnapped Ram’s wife Sita and took her to his kingdom. Then Ram and his army called the Vanara Sena marched into Ravan’s kingdom Lanka and fought a long war. But at the end, good and kind people defeated bad and evil people
