Explainer – 1 – Plasma Membrane vs Cell Wall

We should know about cells because they are the basic and the smallest functional unit of life and our body.

These million cells together form tissues, these tissues form organs and these organs form organ systems.

The Plasma Membrane and The Cell Wall are The two cell security forces protects plant cells.

The Plasma Membrane is the cell security force which protects animal cells

PLASMA MEMBRANE

As a country needs a border, Plasma Membrane is that border of the cell which keeps the contents of the cell from its external environment.

Plasma Membrane is also known as Cell Membrane.

Plasma membrane or Cell membrane is called Selectively Permeable Membrane. It allows or permits the substances (mainly solutes and solvents) to move in and out of the cell just like the border security of a country allows or permits things in and out of the country.

CELL WALL

Cell Wall is a rigid outer covering even above the Plasma Membrane as there is also another strong force beside the border security.

Cell Wall is only found in Plant Cells not Animal Cells.

Cell Wall is made of Cellulose which provides Structural Strength to Plants. Cellulose is just like the soldiers of the strong force.

In the Next Explainer I will tell you about Diffusion and Osmosis
